Room for Every Child

Every child deserves a place to belong. Yet around the world, millions of children have been displaced by conflict, disaster, poverty, and instability. Many have been forced to leave behind homes, schools, communities, and the sense of safety every child needs to grow and thrive. Behind every number is a child carrying fear, loss, uncertainty, and hope for a different future.

In the midst of these challenges, local churches are creating room for children who have nowhere else to turn. Across every world region, Nazarene churches are opening their doors to displaced children and families through schools, child development centers, emergency relief efforts, safe spaces, meals, tutoring programs, trauma care, and Christ-centered community.

From refugee communities in the Middle East to migrant families in Latin America, from children displaced by conflict in Africa to families rebuilding after disasters in Asia-Pacific, the Church is responding with compassion, dignity, and hope.

The 2026 NCM Christmas Project, Room for Every Child, highlights the ways local churches are caring for displaced children around the world. These ministries do more than meet immediate needs. They help children find stability, experience belonging, continue their education, receive emotional and spiritual care, and discover that they are deeply loved by God.

Displacement can leave children feeling invisible and forgotten. But through the work of local churches, children are reminded that there is room for them at the table, room for them in the classroom, room for them in the community, and room for them in the family of God.

Throughout the Advent season, we will share stories from around the world of churches walking alongside displaced children and families with compassion and practical care. Together, we invite you to see how God is making room for every child and how you can join in that work this Christmas season.
